Later this month, Finisar will be showcasing several product demonstrations in Rome, Italy at ECOC, Europe’s most exciting optical industry trade show. The event will take place September 24 – 26 and will host over 300 exhibiting companies from more than twenty countries.

ECOC is bringing the FTTx Centre back for its twelfth year running. The FTTx Centre features live interactive demonstrations in 225 square meters of space.  The show will also feature thirty Market Watch sessions including “The Future of Pluggability for Multi-terabits Data Center Interconnects” to be presented by Finisar’s CTO, Martin Zirngibl, at 11:30am on September 26th. Julie Eng, General Manager of 3D Sensing, will also be speaking at the show at the “Women in Photonics” panel in the Lustina room on September 24th from 9 – 10:30am.

We will have product experts on the show floor each day ready to speak with you about your exciting applications. The show floor is open Monday and Tuesday from 9am-5:0pm and Wednesday from 9am-4pm. In case you miss it, check our blog after the show for videos of our market-leading demonstrations.

Video: Finisar Sherman Ribbon Cutting 2018

Finisar cut the ribbon on a new manufacturing facility in Sherman, Texas on July 9. The North Texas facility will be dedicated to producing VCSELs and related 3D Sensing technologies. Finisar is excited to be a part of Sherman and is looking forward to the opportunities the new site brings with it.

Several Finisar representatives and county officials attended and spoke at the event. Those in attendance included Finisar CEO, Michael Hurlston; VP and General Manager, Jeff Brown; Executive VP and GM of 3D Sensing, Julie Eng; Representative John Ratcliffe; SEDCO Board Chairman John Sild; City of Sherman Mayor, David Plyler; and Grayson County Judge, Bill Magers.
